What data do I use, and where does it come from?
For prospective business contacts, I use limited professional information that is relevant to the services I offer:
- Your name, professional role and business contact details.
- Your organisation name, website address and publicly visible business information.
- Brief notes about the public website and why a design or development service may be relevant.
- A record of outreach, replies and any request not to be contacted.
This information may come from your organisation's website, a public business directory, a public professional profile, a search engine result, a referral, or directly from you. I do not intentionally collect private contact details, special category data or information unrelated to your professional activity for outreach.
Why do I use personal data?
Relevant business outreach
To identify organisations that may benefit from website, brand or design services and send limited, personalised professional outreach.
Lawful basis: legitimate interests, Article 6(1)(f) GDPREnquiries and proposals
To reply to questions, discuss a brief, prepare a quote and take steps you request before a possible project.

Lawful basis: legitimate interestsMy legitimate interest is to develop a freelance creative business by offering relevant services to organisations that may reasonably benefit from them. Before outreach, I consider the professional context, relevance, reasonable expectations and likely impact. I do not rely on legitimate interests where your rights and freedoms override that interest.
How does business outreach work?
If I identify a public business or professional email address, I may send a limited, one-to-one message about a specific website, design or development opportunity. Where I obtained the data elsewhere, I link to this notice in the first communication.
Your right to object to direct marketing is absolute.
You may object at any time, free of charge. Once I receive your objection, I will stop using your personal data for direct marketing.
GDPR and the Irish ePrivacy rules are separate. This notice does not itself create permission to send marketing. I only use business or professional contact details where the message relates to that commercial or official activity and the communication is permitted by applicable law. Each message identifies me, uses a valid reply address and gives a simple way to object.
I do not use automated decision-making or profiling to select or score people for outreach.
How long do I keep it?
Prospects and enquiries
Up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact, unless a project or legal reason requires longer.
Client records
Project correspondence is kept only as needed. Tax and accounting records may be retained for six years as required in Ireland.
Opt-out records
A minimal record, normally the email address and objection date, is kept for as long as needed to make sure I do not contact you again.
Security logs
Technical logs are kept according to the hosting provider's security schedule, or longer only where needed to investigate an incident.
What are your rights?
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask me to:
- Give you access to your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erase data that is no longer needed.
- Restrict how data is used.
- Provide portable data where that right applies.
- Explain the source of data not obtained from you.
- Stop direct marketing immediately.

If you are not satisfied with my response, you may raise a concern with Ireland's Data Protection Commission.
Website data and cookies
This website does not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies. When you submit the contact form, your name, email address, selected services and message are sent through my hosting provider and delivered to my business inbox so I can respond. Enquiry correspondence is normally kept for up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact, unless a project or legal reason requires longer.
To protect the form from abuse, the server temporarily processes a pseudonymous version of your IP address and submission time for a rolling 15-minute rate limit. Entries older than 15 minutes are ignored and pruned when the rate limiter next runs. The hosting provider may also create standard technical logs, which can include an IP address, browser information, requested page and time of access. The site loads typefaces through Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers to request those files.
